The Nomadic Village Story Part 01: Crazy Vehicles, Introduction

Livable Sculpture by Boris/NL.
The Nomadic Village was an annual settlement of Artists On the Road. I announced a site, and - after being selected - the artists arrived with their mobile homes/ateliers and formed the structure of a village. The Bus acted as the townhall, with me being the mayor/caretaker.

In this autonomous enviroment we would experiment with new ways of working and living. The Village immeasurably stimulated creativity, and this also attracted local people. They observed and participated in diverse (and sometimes quite obscure) processes of art.
The Egg-Van by Lindsay, Marek and Lucas from Noizechoir/UK.
Nomadic Village was a project I was doing from 2009 - 2016. During these years we put up villages in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Austria, UK and France. It was a fantastic and intense project, but it also demanded loads of willpower, time and money.
See you somewhere, on the road!
