Tom from Pasheva, Scan from c-Print

It fascinates me how a guy, obviously drunk, can get up and look as sharp and in the present as Tom.
In 2008 I spent weeks in Pasheva, a small Village in western Ukraine. I carried my 4x5 Filmcamera and flash from door to door, talked to the people, and took their portraits.
Tech:
This portrait was made using a Graflex 4x5 Camera with a flash mounted underneath the lens. I exposed so the daylight will fill the picture, while the flash just brightens up Tom's face and eyes a notch. I used an old sheet of film, an Agfa RSX 100, which I crossprocessed. When printing I focussed on achieving a subtle contrast between the cool-ish hue of the surrounding and Tom's skintones.
